Mineral analysis of hair*: Assess levels of zinc, copper, manganese, iodine, chromium, lead, mercury, aluminum, cadmium, and arsenic.
*For many minerals, this analysis is more relevant than blood tests. The levels of these minerals relate to body levels and imbalances and can suggest nutritional or systemic problems that are affecting the hair and skin. Untreated hair—hair that has not been chemically treated—is used for the analysis. It is normally cut from the lower back area of the scalp and sent to a laboratory for testing.
